Ice Cream Sandwiches

Directions

The "Frozen" Worms in Dirt Cup

A premium,Small-batch twist on the childhood classic.

Prep time: 15 minutes Chill time: 1 hour Yields: 4-6 individual cups

đź›’ Ingredients

For the "Mud" (Pudding Base):

  • 1 package (3.9 oz) Instant Chocolate Pudding Mix

  • 2 cups cold whole milk

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the "Dirt" (The V1 Sweets Special):

  • 4-6 V1 Sweets Freeze-Dried Ice Cream Sandwiches (Vanilla or Chocolate flavor work best)

For the "Worms" & Decor:

  • 1 package Gummy Worms (Standard or Sour)

  • Optional: Edible rocks or candy flowers for the "garden."

🥣 Special Equipment

  • Food processor (or a large Ziploc bag and a rolling pin)

  • Individual serving cups (clear plastic or glass "pottery" cups work best)

  • Electric mixer or whisk

📝 Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Make the Mud (Pudding Base)

In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and the cold whole milk. Whisk vigorously for 2 minutes until it begins to thicken. Place the bowl in the refrigerator to set completely (about 5-10 minutes).

Step 2: The Pro Secret—Stabilized Whipped Cream

This step is crucial. Regular pudding is too wet and will turn your freeze-dried dirt into mush instantly.

In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Stiff peaks mean when you lift the beaters, the cream holds its shape completely.

Step 3: Fold the Mud

Gently fold the stabilized whipped cream into the chilled chocolate pudding. Go slowly so you don't deflate the cream. You are looking for a light, fluffy, mousse-like "mud" texture.

Step 4: Create the V1 Sweets "Dirt"

This is the main event. Take your freeze-dried ice cream sandwiches.

  • Method A (Food Processor): Pulse the sandwiches until you have a mixture of fine crumbs and small, pea-sized chunks. You want texture, not dust.

  • Method B (Bag & Pin): Place sandwiches in a large Ziploc. Seal it, leaving a small air gap. Crush them with a rolling pin until you have a varying "soil-like" consistency.

Step 5: The "As-Needed" Assembly (Crucial for Crunch)

Because freeze-dried product is highly moisture-sensitive, do not assemble all the cups ahead of time. Only assemble what you plan to serve immediately.

  • Layer 1: Place 2 tablespoons of pudding "mud" in the bottom of a clear cup.

  • Layer 2: Add a generous layer of V1 Sweets "dirt" crumbs.

  • Layer 3: Add more pudding "mud."

  • Layer 4: Stick 2-3 gummy worms into the mud, so they look like they are crawling out.

  • Layer 5 (The Topsoil): Cover the surface completely with a final, thick layer of freeze-dried dirt crumbs.

Step 6: Serve Immediately

Hand a spoon to your customer (or friend) and tell them to dive deep. They will get the creamy mousse, the chewy worm, and that explosive V1 Sweets crunch.
